Family, Fun, and Firsts

The weekend before Halloween was my grandma's funeral. Although it was a sad occasion, it was wonderful to see so many family members. Grayson couldn't even show off his skills of pulling himself up because so many people held him. He got to meet some cousins for the first time and check in with others that go way back.

The next day, Jerry and I went to the pumpkin patch. We invited Jerry's parents, Dennis and Cathy, to join us. We wanted to get pumpkins to carve for Halloween and it would be a nice photo opt. Well, the pumpkin patch was blown out. There were hardly any pumpkins left one week before Halloween. Grayson pretty much hated it. We took a few pictures and were in and out within 10 minutes. We ended up buying pumpkins at our local Vons.
Checking out the pumpkins.

Realizing that he doesn't really want to do this.

Crying for someone to pick him up! Anyone!

Grayson first tooth is popping up. He has been "teething" for some time now, but we were never able to see or feel anything. Not the case now. In addition to his first tooth, he enjoys feeding himself finger foods now. (Nothing too exciting, just the puffed baby foods). My baby is growing up! We also celebrated our first Halloween with a little one. Grayson was dressed up as a monkey (although it looked like a bear once we put it on him). It was a fun night that pretty much consisted of Jerry and I walking up the street to different neighbor's houses. (No, we were not trick-or-treating, just visiting.) We were back home by 8:30, turned off the lights and went to bed. Can't wait for all of the "first" holidays coming up!
The day of Halloween.

The monkey costume...
that sort of looked like a bear, once he was in it.

Happy Halloween!
