Where the Wild Things Are

Last weekend, Grayson and I went to the Wild Animal Park along with my parents. We had not been there in a long time (Grayson had never been). I was hesitant to take him in Lorikeet Landing, but my dad urged me to do it. We put his hat on him, bought some nectar and headed in. Grayson loved it...and the lorikeets loved him. One even landed on his head.

He loves animals so much and enjoys any chance he can touch (pull, tug, yank) them. He tried touching this lorikeet, but we pulled his hand away. This guys looked like he'd been in a couple of scuffles. He was the John Wayne of the lorikeets.

Grayson did, however, get his groove on in the petting zoo. It was hard to keep him away from these animals. They were gentle enough to not mind a little tug here and there.

Last Friday, Jerry took Grayson to Mt. Laguna to see the snow. This time, there was plenty of it. Jerry's parents and our niece and nephew, Ella and Jaren, were there also. Jerry said that he really enjoyed the snow and sledding.

That night, Jerry's aunt and uncle, Celeste and Joe, along with their boys, Konrad and Ivan, watched Grayson while Jerry and I had a date night. We enjoyed a lovely, highchair-free meal at one of our favorite restaurants, Bullys. Prime rib...yum, yum.
